Portugal’s U17 National Team has written a historic chapter by winning the FIFA U17 World Cup for the first time. The team defeated Austria 1–0 in the final in Doha, with the decisive goal scored by Anísio Cabral in the 32nd minute, a moment destined to become symbolic for this generation.
On their path to the title, Portugal overcame major opponents, including Brazil in the semi-finals, in a match decided by penalty shootout. This victory marks the best Portuguese performance ever at the tournament, surpassing the previous third-place finish in 1989.
