Brazilian defender Nino, currently playing for FC Zenit Saint Petersburg, has joined AS1. The 28-year-old centre-back from Recife is regarded as one of the most consistent Brazilian defenders of his generation and has also earned a cap with the Brazilian national team.
Nino moved to the Russian side in January 2024 from Fluminense FC, where he established himself as a key leader and made more than 240 official appearances for the club. Throughout his professional career he has already surpassed 390 matches, standing out for his leadership, aerial strength and ability to build play from the back.
This season with Zenit, the Brazilian centre-back continues to play an important role in the team’s defensive line, contributing in both league and cup competitions. With this addition, AS1 strengthens its roster with an experienced defender who brings a strong background in both South American and European football.
