Diogo Travassos joins SC Braga until 2031

SC Braga have officially announced the signing of Diogo Travassos, with the Portuguese right-back leaving Sporting CP to begin a new chapter at the club. The player has signed a contract until 2031, in what becomes the highest transfer fee ever paid by Braga to another Portuguese club.

Developed through Sporting’s academy, Diogo Travassos was long regarded as one of the club’s brightest young prospects. A regular presence in Portugal’s youth national teams, he quickly stood out for his intensity, technical quality, and attacking ability down the right flank.

Travassos made a name for himself at Alcochete, where he established himself as one of the most promising full-backs of his generation. His performances for Sporting’s youth sides earned him regular call-ups to Portugal’s U17, U19, U20 and also U21 national teams, further strengthening his reputation within Portuguese football.

Throughout his development, the defender gained valuable competitive experience and maturity, consistently showing the profile of a modern full-back: aggressive in recovery, quick going forward, and comfortable in different phases of the game.

Now, at 22 years old, Travassos takes one of the biggest steps of his career by joining SC Braga, a club that has established itself as a regular presence in European competitions and one of the most ambitious projects in Portuguese football.

The move represents not only a major investment by Braga in Diogo Travassos’ potential, but also a great opportunity for the player to establish himself at a higher competitive level.

After years linked to Sporting CP, Travassos now prepares to wear Braga’s colours and begin a new chapter in what is already one of the standout transfers of the Portuguese market.
