Anísio Cabral renews contract with SL Benfica until 2031

Anísio Cabral renews contract with SL Benfica for 5 more seasons. One day after turning 18 years old, the forward, a U-17 World and European champion with Portugal, signed a new deal with the Reds until 2031. 

He joined Benfica Campus in 2016/2017, when he was under-9, after a stint at UD Alta de Lisboa. Anísio Cabral played his first match for SL Benfica on January 25, 2026. He was brought on by José Mourinho and, in the home game against Estrela da Amadora, scored the last goal in the Reds’ 4-0 victory at Estádio da Luz. Likewise, in the home game against Alverca, he was again brought on and scored the winning goal for SL Benfica in a 2-1 win, being named Man of the Match. 

This season he has 13 appearances and 4 goals for the Juniors; 3 matches with the U-23 team, and one appearance for the B team.

Anísio Cabral has had a consistently progressive career. He was the National Champion of Under-15s (2022/2023), scoring 32 goals in 31 matches, and in the following season, he won national titles with the Under-17s (1st and 2nd divisions), scoring 29 goals in 35 games. 

On November 4, 2024, the young athlete, aged 16, signed his first professional contract with SL Benfica, at the time completing his 9th season with the club. In the 2024/2025 season, he played 33 matches for the Under-17s, scoring 26 goals. 

He has represented Portugal at youth levels, with 40 caps and 24 goals. He is an Under-17 World Champion, scoring the winning goal in the final against Austria, having scored 7 goals in 8 matches in the tournament. 

He was also the Under-17 European Champion in Tirana, Albania, where he played 5 matches, scored 2 goals, and provided 1 assist. In the final, Anísio Cabral scored the opening goal (0-1) and assisted to extend Portugal’s lead to 0-2.

Anísio Cabral reveals at the moment of renewal that he is living a dream. “It means a lot, because I have represented Benfica for a long time. I am very happy. I have to keep learning.”
